PIWI Projects
“PIWI” is an acronym for “Parents Interacting with Infants,” and it refers to an early intervention model whose underlying premise is that early development occurs within the context of the family and primary attachment relationships. PIWI has been used in university research activities and its training, research and program development activities have been funded through grants from the U.S. Department of Education. The resulting body of work is encapsulated as “PIWI Projects”. The following links provide more detailed information about the PIWI model and its use in a university-based birth-to-three early intervention playgroup practicum field experience (Stay ‘N Play).
