Storytelling is a fundamental part of being human. Stories let us share information in a way that creates an emotional connection. They help us to understand that information and each other, and it makes the information memorable. Sharing your story has the potential to help someone else feel less alone. Our stories are powerful because they evoke compassion even among strangers. We also create opportunities to understand others better and cultivate empathy towards them. The Illinois Early Intervention Clearinghouse collects the stories of families participating in the Illinois Early Intervention program.
